Margaret Clayton - Women in Research Postdoctoral Fellowship 2010The Faculty of Science has established the Margaret Clayton - Women in Research Postdoctoral Fellowship to attract female early career researchers with outstanding potential to undertake research in areas of identified faculty research strength or emerging research potential. One award only will be made in 2009 (for 2010). The fellowship will be funded for up to three years, with the second and third year of funding being confirmed following consideration of a report submitted by 1 November in 2010 and 2011 detailing the progress of the research during that year. The fellowship is tenable only in the Faculty of Science at Monash University and it is expected that most of the time will be spent in the relevant school or centre. Applicants must contact the head of the school (A/Prof. Michael Morgan) to discuss the proposed project. The closing date for applications is close of business on Friday, 3 July 2009. For full details and application forms please visit http://www.sci.monash.edu.au/research/clayton-fellowship.html Future FellowshipsThe Australian Government recenty announced the creation of a new scheme, Future Fellowships, to promote research in areas of critical national importance by giving world class researchers incentives to conduct their research in Australia. The aim of Future Fellowships is to attract and retain the best and brightest mid-career researchers. Over a five-year period (2009 -2013), Future Fellowships will offer four-year Fellowships of up to $140,000 a year to 1,000 Australian and international top researchers in the middle of their career. In addition, each researcher’s administering organisation will receive funding of up to $50,000 per year to support related infrastructure, equipment, travel and relocation costs. The successful applicant can also expect further support from the Faculty of Scence and the School of Physics.
