Project Title: Optimisation of a Hybrid Compton and Mechanically Collimated Imaging System
Summary: PEDRO, a hybrid Compton and mechanically collimated imaging system is being developed at the Monash Centre for Synchrotron Science (MCSS). PEDRO consists of three main elements; a mechanical collimator, a multi-layered scattering detector and a Hybrid Pixel Detector developed by another MCSS project as the back end absorption detector. Optimisation of the geometrical configuration, signal processing, image reconstruction algorithms and combination of radioisotopes for PEDRO is being explored by both experimental and theoretical methods. |
